Software, Data, and UI/UX Projects

In terms of software and web development, I use an array of skills to develop functioning products, both frontend and backend. From using HTML,CSS,Javascript,PHP,MySQL, and Vue/Vuetify for web development to XCode/Swift, C++, C, Android Studio, and Java for mobile dev, I am able to combine my skillsets to create polished products.

IntelliAmp

Developed for nursing homes in my area, IntelliAmplifier allows a user wearing headphones to hear the sound around them at a much greater volume. This app can function as a hearing aid or simple audio amplifier.

It also incorporates an audio waveform display and a spectrum analyzer to show low vs. high frequency levels. The spectrum analyzer takes the audio input and runs it thru a Fast Fourier Transform (FFT) to graph the results in realtime.

IntelliAmplifier won the Wizard award in the Youth Apps Challenge.

PayLoc Mobile Solution

PayLoc aims to make traditional punchcards obsolete by allowing employees to be able to clock in and out of their shifts using only their smartphone via the PayLoc Mobile App. The app utilizes geofencing technology to ensure that each request made in the app is both authentic and secure.

Part of my job involved developing the PayLoc Mobile Clock in/Out App, detailed here.

The backend is tied to a node.js based backend. In-house developed scheduling algorithms tied to a redundant database drive the logic behind PayLoc. 3rd party APIs are leveraged to handle PCI data, check printing and direct deposit tasks.

GEPHI Market Research Visualization

Developed a visualization algorithm via GEPHI for Precise Software Solutions to analyze the market trends and governmental liabilities when producing their counterfeit drug detection device. The chart automatically takes in market data to show connections and requirements in a clear UI.

Professional User Experience Design Storyboards/Writeups

As an intern for Precise Software Solutions/Sapfonte, I designed the User experience workflow and look/feel UI of the website and accompanying mobile app for a counterfeit drug detection device using Adobe XD.

BobaRun

Food Delivery Optimization App designed to reduce delivery fees to multiple students ordering from the same location. During "hot spots" like lunch and dinner time, I noticed several delivery drivers from the same company appearing at around the same time to my college dorm.

By using BobaRun, which accesses the APIs of several food delivery apps like Grubhub and UberEats, students can group together orders from the same restaurant, or even just the same app, and split the shipping cost amongst each other.

MIT LaunchIn App

In the summer of 2017, I attended MIT Launch, a fast-paced, entrepreneurship-focused startup incubator.

It all started with our one-hour lunch break. By MIT’s rule, we had to sign out and sign in for lunch break. That physical sign in/out paper was kept with the dorm manager - a 20 minute walk from our classroom. Walking back and forth to sign out for lunch and then sign back in would take 40 minutes of our one-hour lunch break. After a single day of this nonsense, I started talking with a few people I had happened to meet. There just had to be a better way of doing this.

By the very first night of our stay, I had managed to drum up support and set out to recruit the smartest and most passionate developers and designers I could find. After a few days to get everything finished up together, LaunchIn was born. Incorporating Touch ID and geofencing, it was much more efficient and easy to use than the sheet of paper - so much so that MIT decided to purchase the app from us for $500 (and a set of sweet MIT jackets). Now, we had more lunch time and more lunch money: a win-win! In this case, there was a clear pain point for all students, and a relatively clear solution. We demonstrated our agility and efficiency in solving real problems. From that initial outburst of creativity and passion, I knew I had found my crowd.
